Soprano singing actress Danielle Williams has appeared in numerous musical theatre, opera productions and recital. 

 

She earned acclaim  as Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus (Picoplat Music Development Foundation) and Cosette in the BpTT Marionettes Chorale’s production of Les Misèrables.

Soprano Danielle Kamilah Williams fell in love with opera in the birthplace of Steelpan & Calypso, Trinidad & Tobago. She completed her B.Sc. in Biochemistry & Nutritional Sciences, worked in Public Health Research, Biomedical Sales & Marketing; while studying voice privately and completing an Artist Diploma at the University of Trinidad & Tobago.

 

With a voice described as ‘rich and sumptuous with an expansive range’, Danielle played Cosette in the Caribbean premiere of Les Misérables (2014 & 2025, BpTT Marionettes Chorale) and Prince Orlofsky (2011, Die Fledermaus- Picoplat Development Opera). She performed regularly for Heads of State and televised concerts. In 2019, she was honored to sing Baba’ for the Torch Handover at the Closing Ceremony of the Caribbean Festival of Arts XIV, essentially the regional cultural Olympics which was established in 1972. 

 

Now based in London, Danielle Williams is a Pegasus Opera Mentee for 2025/2026 and a Musicians' Company Mentee for 2024-29. In May 2024, Danielle made her UK opera debut as ‘Jenny’ and ‘Tannoy’ in the Streetwise Opera Production of ‘The Rescue: Escape the Dream’, as part of the Royal Philharmonic Society Impact Award-winning Re:Discover Festival at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. She has since gone on to play ‘Avril’ in ‘Discover Windrush’ (Pegasus Opera) and ‘Savannah’ in ‘Windrush’ (Pegasus Opera) at the Research & Development residency at Glyndebourne Opera.  She will debut as ‘Micaela’ with Southgate Opera and Orchestra at Wyllyotts Theatre in June 2026.

Danielle completed her Master's in Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music with Distinction in 2024, studying with the late Michael Harper & Hilary Summers, and graduated first in her class.  She was awarded the RNCM’s Musicians’ Company Silver Medal for 2024 and the Samuel-Coleridge Prize at the 2025 Williams-Howard Competition. She completed 5 weekend residences at Opera North with the support of the Leverhulme Trust, working closely with its Head of Music, Directors, and Coaches. Danielle has participated in masterclasses and coaching with Dame Ann Murray, Elizabeth Llewellyn, Susan Bullock, Dr Louise Toppin, Lynne Dawson, Alwyn Mellor, & Yvonne Howard.

A captivating recitalist Danielle made her European recital debut in Stuttgart with the Internationale Hugo-Wolf-Akademie and her UK debut at the ‘Colour My Song’ recital at the Buxton Festival in July 2025. Danielle was the featured singer at the 'Croydon in Harmony' Concert (Pegasus Opera) in April 2026.

 

Danielle is passionate about exploring the intersection between health science, music and community outreach. Determined to see the Caribbean ethos, instruments, & stories reflected more in art music, she arranges & composes.

She is grateful to the José & Rafton Smallwood Award, Lady Maria Fisher Opera Scholarship, Ann Gerrard Bursary & an anonymous donor for supporting her Master’s & Postgraduate Diploma studies.
